East Village
Dante alumni Willem Hock and Lukas Canan opened this coastal Italian restaurant and aperitivo bar at 182 Second Avenue, with a 60-seat dining room, courtyard garden, and a spritz-and-martini list. Dinner is Tuesday–Sunday; brunch is promised in September.
Hudson Yards
Sujan Sarkar’s British-Indian chophouse is open at 517 West 38th Street inside Henry Hall — chops with vindaloo masala, caviar crumpets, and a horseshoe bar. Tuesday–Saturday, 5–11 p.m.
Bed-Stuy
Olmo is teaming with Mexico City’s Cicatriz on an all-day taqueria and cafe next door at 105 Saratoga Avenue. Guisado tacos, vegetarian-leaning plates, and cafe hours from 7 a.m. on weekdays.
Williamsburg
Chef Sirichai Sreparplarn is bringing the cult Thai restaurant back at 364 Grand Street, in a two-floor room that seats about 70, with a full bar and a wider menu than the old Carroll Gardens shop.
Brooklyn Heights
Confidant chefs Brendan Kelley and Daniel Grossman are opening a late-night sourdough pizza and natural-wine bar next door at 129 Atlantic Avenue, hours until midnight on weeknights and 2 a.m. on weekends. Hoodline did not publish a door date.
Chelsea
Overstory’s Harrison Ginsberg will run this ultra-luxe lounge for Crane Club / Tao Group in the old Mel’s space at 85 Tenth Avenue, with a short live-fire and caviar menu from Melissa Rodriguez.
Lower East Side
The Japan-born vegan ramen and sushi-roll shop is at 201 Allen Street. Eater NY, citing EV Grieve, says limited hours are already live and a full opening is set for August 20.
East Village
Bookstore-bar at 170 Avenue A from Marianna Vaidman Stone and Emily Samara Stone. Wine, beer, frozen rosé, coffee, and small plates. EV Grieve, August 14.

A Japanese tea-tasting room with classes inside Matchaful at 92 Berry Street. Walk-ins noon–3 p.m. Wednesday–Sunday; classes on Resy.
Union Square
Sushi Aozora launched this more affordable hand-roll counter in the same storefront at 15 East 15th Street. Temaki sets run about $23–$55.
Upper West Side
Sushi of Gari alumni opened this high-end Japanese room at 150 West 70th Street, with à la carte and a $185 omakase, per Infatuation and Eater NY.
Midtown
Takes over the old La Grenouille at 3 East 52nd Street. Chef Matt Chen; Beijing duck from $128 and a nearly $200 tasting menu.
Lower East Side
The pop-up from Alexis White and chef Jorge Luis Pabon is taking a permanent room at 123 Ludlow Street, Wednesday–Sunday 5–11 p.m., a spokesperson told Whatnow.

Mother-daughter bookstore and bar at 170 Avenue A, the old 7-Eleven. Wine, beer, frozen rosé, coffee, tea, and mix-and-match plates. EV Grieve walked the room Friday as they dry-ran the ribbon-cutting.
Greenwich Village
Bumble BFF takeover at the original PopUp Bagels. First 100 people who join the dedicated PopUp Bagels group on BFF get a complimentary three-pack of bagels and schmear; coffee, matcha, and creator-led meetups.
East Village
The new coastal Italian room opened Thursday. Closed Mondays; courtyard and the $18 spritz list return tomorrow.

Sunday’s Prospect Park market is over. Weekly rhythm: Friday the Oculus, Saturday Williamsburg, Sunday Breeze Hill. Central Park also runs Thursday–Saturday, 12–8 p.m.
